Switching platforms

I began creating my ePortfolio on Wix on the recommendation of others when I first started the program.  I feel like Wix has done a decent job for me at the beginner lever.  After listening to discussions in class with Dr. H, I discovered that I will probably need a more reliable host if I’m going to continue using the eP after I graduate.  I began looking at migrating my information to WordPress.  I have started the process but haven’t gotten very far yet. Wix has a way to migrate to another site but I think I have to purchase the site first and I don’t want to spend money on it if I’m planning to leave.  So I’ve decided to begin the migration to WordPress in between courses.  I will have to migrate my content one by one.  I don’t mind doing it this way because it will give me the opportunity to reflect on what I like and what I don’t like, what works and what doesn’t. Also, within Wix, I began my eP with one look and it has changed 2 or 3 times.  Since I’m using it for now, I wanted it to reflect how I’m feeling and to reflect on what my ultimate purpose is going to be and that is to use it professionally.
