Contribution to 5315 learning community Assessing Digital Learning and Instruction
Reflection:
As I approach the conclusion of my Master's program, I find it invaluable to reflect on the breadth of knowledge and skills I have acquired across various areas. One of the most significant lessons has been cultivating a network of individuals with whom I can engage in meaningful discourse. This network has provided a space to discuss courses, professors, assignments, and the broader life circumstances that often contribute to the challenges and stress of academic work. For someone like me, with a Type A personality, this support system has been essential in maintaining the high standards I set for myself in completing assignments.
Throughout the program, my efforts have centered on developing my Innovation Proposal, which advocates for integrating a digital component into the Spanish language curriculum to establish a blended learning environment. In course 5315, I developed a research question that directed my action research and aligned closely with the objectives of my Innovation Proposal. This course provided invaluable guidance in creating an outline for my action research, which subsequently served as a framework for my study as I conducted a comprehensive literature review to support my chosen research direction. Upon completing the literature review, I devised an action research plan to implement my study effectively.
What worked:
A key factor contributing to my success in this course was the ample time I could dedicate to coursework and assignments. Reading Mertler's text provided valuable insights that significantly guided my action research process, making it more cohesive and manageable. Additionally, the availability of structured templates for composing my Literature Review and Action Research Plan was instrumental in organizing and synthesizing my work effectively.
Revisions:
I have read through all the feedback and corrected my Literature Review.
Contribution Grade 98:
Additionally, class discussions regarding assignments were invaluable in clarifying expectations and ensuring that my submissions aligned with the course requirements. I responded to all discussion questions in a timely manner and also responded to my classmates' discussions. I also benefited greatly from the support of my cohort. We utilized a dedicated TEAMS channel for this class, which served as a collaborative space to share our work, exchange ideas, and pose questions to one another throughout the course. I also set up a Zoom call to discuss the first assignment. I only had one participant, but it was productive. Collaboration Video.
The following are sample screenshots of the conversations I contributed to my cohort.
