Installing 4DX with Your Organization
In creating an implementation plan for the innovation proposal, the Four Disciplines of Execution (4DX) strategy provides a clear path to success. According to the 4DX plan, it is essential that the team focuses on no more than two goals (Covey, 2021). For establishing a blended learning environment in the foreign language classroom, we are concentrating on one Wildly Important Goal (WIG): achieving 100% student participation in the DuoLingo program by May 2025. As the leader of this initiative, my primary objective is to execute the strategy effectively and produce results. To maintain focus on the WIG while planning and teaching lessons from the curriculum, DuoLingo will be assigned as the only homework for the Spanish classroom, preventing students from getting caught up in the daily whirlwind of other tasks.

Title: Implementing a strategy for students to participate in their own learning through the use of an online foreign language program by using the strategies found in The 4 Disciplines of Execution (4DX).
Audience: This strategy targets middle school foreign language students at St. Anne Catholic School. This program will begin by creating a significant learning environment (CSLE) where students will take ownership of their own learning through the principles of COVA (choice, ownership, voice, and authentic experiences).
Objective: For middle school students to participate and take ownership of their own learning by participating in an online language program called DuoLingo. The goal is for 100% of the students to log a minimum of 50 minutes during the first month of participation and then increase the goal incrementally for until 100% of students reach two hours of participation by May 2025.

Innovation Proposal: The innovation proposal aims to develop a blended learning environment in the foreign language classroom through the use of an online language platform paired with teacher-led instruction. Students will have a choice in when they will work on the program, as well as the level they will work at. They will take ownership of their own learning, have a voice in their progress and instruction, and experience language learning through authentic experiences (COVA).

Implementation Strategy for Success
Leadership Support:
Communicate the goals of the Innovation Proposal to the administration and the strategy to engage students’ participation in the program.

Introduction to the platform:
Students will be introduced to DuoLingo and the objectives of the program. They will be provided with a link to join the DuoLingo class.

Infrastructure and Technology:
Adequate internet access is crucial to the success of the program. Technologists will be consulted to ensure adequate coverage in the classroom. Students will have the opportunity to log into the platform and navigate the site to ensure it functions properly and that they comprehend how to use the program effectively.

Communication and Community Building:
Clearly articulate the program's objectives to the students, emphasizing the competitive component linked to these goals. Foster a sense of community within the classroom by allowing students to name their team and select a representative logo. Encourage students to take ownership of their learning and support one another through collaboration during the program's implementation, aiming for both individual and team success.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
Provide weekly progress reports to each team highlighting the most productive students and the least. Students who are falling behind will receive encouragement and support from teammates to increase their online presence in the platform.
Celebration and Recognition:
Publicize and post the productivity of each class on the class poster highlighting the top 3 most productive students making it a goal for each student to have their name posted on their class poster. The most productive teams in each grade will receive a class party to celebrate their successes at the end of the semester.

Conclusion:
The implementation of the 4DX plan of the innovation proposal serves as a guide to achieve the program's goals. By focusing on clear objectives, students can act on lag measures (weekly goals) to reach the ultimate lead measure (100% participation for 2 hours on the platform by May 2025). This will be accomplished by maintaining a compelling scoreboard and ensuring a cadence of accountability through weekly status reports, all aimed at ensuring the program's success.

How the Influencer Model and 4DX Complement/Supplement Each Other
The Influencer Model and the 4DX Model share many similarities and complement each other. Both models emphasize a structured approach to achieving goals, though they each have their unique elements. The Influencer Model's three keys to success closely align with the four disciplines of the 4DX Model. The first key to success in the Influencer Model, which involves focusing and measuring, parallels 4DX's Discipline 1, which emphasizes focusing on the Wildly Important Goal (WIG) with a clear finish line. This key encourages influencers to have a clear goal and a method to measure progress.

The second key to success in the Influencer Model is to find vital behaviors—specific actions that lead to important results and to the ultimate goal. This is similar to 4DX's Discipline 2, which involves acting on lead measures. These measures are predictive and influenceable actions that directly contribute to achieving the ultimate goal.

The third key in the Influencer Model engages all six sources of influence: personal motivation, personal ability, social motivation, social ability, structural motivation, and structural ability. This comprehensive engagement aligns with the remaining disciplines of the 4DX Model. Discipline 3, which is about keeping a compelling scoreboard, sparks competition and social motivation by making progress public. Discipline 4 focuses on creating accountability, which is essential for sustaining motivation and driving results. Both models recognize the importance of changing the overall environment to foster significant and effective learning and progress that will ultimately lead to the success of any project.
